Teamwork Helps Build New Western Building Products Distribution Center

From fishing buddies to business colleagues, the owners of Lifetime Door Company and Tri-County Overhead Door Service know how to get the job done. Each runs a successful business. One sells Haas Door garage doors in the southern part of Wisconsin, the other sells in the northern part. But, when help is needed, they’re happy to cross the borders to support each other.

“Paul Millard and I have a unique relationship,” says Gary Kasprzak, owner of Lifetime Door Co., Inc. out of Brookfield, Wisc. “We’re both personal and business friends. We’ve got each other’s back.”

That special relationship is why, when his company needed help with a large Haas Door installation order, Kasprzak called on Millard, owner of Tri-County Overhead Door Service Inc., out of New London, Wisc. for support. Both companies have been installing Haas garage doors for more than 20 years.

Massive Door Installation Project

“We recently had the opportunity to install a large number of Series 700 V-Groove Steel Insulated Haas garage doors in a new facility for Western Building Products,” says Kasprzak. “These energy efficient steel doors are perfect for this facility. We wanted the job, but just couldn’t handle it alone due to our crews being tied up on similar projects at the time. That’s when I went to Paul for assistance.”

Together, installer teams from both companies outfitted the new Western Building Products facility in Milwaukee, Wisc. with 41 Haas garage doors. The estimated $12.5 million structure occupies about 326,000-square-feet.

One of the largest distributors of millwork products in the Midwest, Western Building Products is an employee-owned operation. The company warehouses thousands of products including mouldings, stair parts, windows, columns, and an extensive offering of interior and fire-rated entry doors.

Teamwork – Crossing Borders

“Working on the new Western Building Products project was very impressive,” says Millard. “We were there helping create the shell of the massive structure.

“Having our two teams work together is a great move for our companies. It’s really great that we could figure out how to get this job done together.”

Both company leaders relate that a solid, cooperative work ethic brought them together for the massive project.

“Lifetime ordered the materials for this job and we provided extra hands to help during a busy time of the year,” says Millard. “We both knew this facility truly needed and deserved high quality Haas garage doors. It was smart business and a strong friendship that allowed our companies to complete this job together.”

Energy efficiency is often discussed in terms of windows, insulation and HVAC systems. But one of the largest and most frequently used openings in a home is often overlooked: the garage door. Because the garage connects directly to the living space in many homes, the performance of the garage door affects more than just curb appeal. It plays a meaningful role in comfort, efficiency and long-term home performance. That’s why the way a garage door is built matters.

As hurricane season ramps up, homeowners across the Gulf Coast, Atlantic states and beyond are checking emergency kits, trimming trees and securing loose outdoor items. But one of the most important — and most overlooked — steps in hurricane prep starts with your garage. At Haas Door, we know that your garage door isn’t just about curb appeal. It’s a vital barrier that protects your home from wind, water and debris. And in high-wind events like hurricanes, it can be a first line of defense in protecting your home. Why Your Garage Door Matters in a Storm A compromised garage door can cause catastrophic damage. According to FEMA, garage door failure is one of the leading causes of structural damage during hurricanes. Once the door is breached, wind pressure can build inside your home, lifting the roof and blowing out walls.
