Here’s What You Missed at the 2026 IDA Expo
The International Door Association Expo is always one of our favorite events to attend — and the 2026 show did not disappoint. From an interactive training room to a buzzing show floor, it was a great few days connecting with dealers, sharing what’s new at Haas Door and talking about the topics that matter most to our industry.
If you weren’t able to make it out this year, here’s a look at everything that went on.

The Booth:
Safe Homes Are Resilient Homes
Our booth this year told a story. We built out a full side-by-side comparison display showing the real structural differences between a Standard Door, a Wind Load Door and an Impact Door. Visitors could see exactly what goes into each tier: the struts, the end stiles, the roller shafts, the hardware — all laid out in
a way that made the value immediately clear.
The “Safe Homes Are Resilient Homes” message anchored the display, featuring
IBHS research showing that 90% of homes where the garage door survived
a storm had no structural roof damage. The Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH) shared research that consumers are willing to pay more for a wind rated garage door when they understand it will protect the structural integrity of the home.
We also highlighted the 268% ROI that dealers can realize by moving customers from a standard door to a wind load door — a conversation that resonated strongly with attendees looking for ways to grow their business.
A Full Day of Training
We hosted three training sessions in a dedicated training room. Here’s what we covered:
New Product Introduction
We kicked off the day with a preview of what’s new before the show floor even opened. The highlight?
The introduction of two exciting new Plank colors: Natural Plank and Black Oak Plank. The modern, horizontal
wood grain look is exactly what the market has been asking for and seeing them on real homes made the
case beautifully.
Importance of Expanding Wind Rated Garage Doors Across the U.S.
Later that morning, we brought in two industry experts — Leslie Chapman-Henderson, CEO of FLASH, and Tanya Brown Giammanco from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) — to make the case for why wind load protection isn’t just a coastal issue.

The data they walked through was compelling: tornado probability maps showing risk across the entire continental U.S., post-storm damage studies covering over 1,100 homes, and a clear through-line connecting garage door integrity to whole-home structural survival. Wind speeds in the EF0–EF2 range — which account for the vast majority of all tornadoes — are in the lower pressures, which a wind rated garage door can handle.
The message: dealers everywhere — not just in hurricane zones — have an opportunity and a responsibility to educate their customers on the value of wind load protection for their homes and families.
HaasWorx & Exciting New Tools
To close out the day, we walked attendees through HaasWorx and introduced two new tools designed to make working with Haas Door faster and easier.
Energy Efficiency Was a Hot Topic on the Floor
Beyond the training sessions, our energy efficiency story — specifically our U-Factor performance — generated a lot of interest on the show floor. Our Dealers were engaged with how they could use Haas Door’s thermal performance specs to differentiate themselves in the market. It’s a message that’s only going to become more relevant as energy codes continue to tighten and homeowners understand the importance the garage door plays in energy efficiency.
See You in 2028
The IDA Expo is one of our favorite opportunities to connect with the dealers and partners who make Haas Door what it is — and this year was no exception. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, attended a training session and spent time with our team. We’re already looking forward to 2028 in Louisville, KY.
