What We Were Up to at IBS 2026

Haas Door • March 23, 2026

The International Builders’ Show was the perfect place to launch some exciting new products and host a really energizing event with our partners at FLASH. Here’s a quick look at what we brought to the show.

New Colors, New Options

One of the biggest product announcements we made at IBS was the addition of two new wood grain plank colors: Black Oak Plank and Natural Plank. That brings our total plank lineup to five, alongside American Walnut Plank, English Oak Plank and Cedar Plank.

Black Oak Plank leans into the growing trend of dark garage doors — but with a twist. Instead of a flat black finish, it features a deep, rich wood grain pattern that’s visible from the street. It’s a great way to add serious curb appeal with something that feels truly unique.

Natural Plank goes in the other direction: a clean, neutral tone that pairs beautifully with the dark and dusty siding colors trending in new construction right now. It’s a subtle complement that adds warmth without competing with the rest of the home’s exterior.

Both new colors are available in multiple door thicknesses and come with a 12-year finish warranty.

SelectView SlimLine: Now Impact-Ready

We also introduced SelectView SlimLine impact-resistant lites — a new addition to our lineup of wind-rated products. SlimLine’s long, narrow design lets natural light into the garage while keeping a sense of privacy, and it’s now available in both impact-resistant and non-impact wind rated versions.

SlimLine is one of several window options we offer across our wind-rated product line, which is designed to keep homes protected during high-wind events like hurricanes and tornadoes. When the garage door holds, research shows that 90% of homes sustain no structural damage — a stat that resonates with builders, homeowners, and insurers alike.  The wind rated display was a big hit. The video and graphics explain how a small investment to upgrade the garage door track to a wind rated system, will provide protection for the consumer's property and family, while providing the builder with a way to set their home apart from other builders.

After Hours with FLASH

We also hosted an invitation-only evening event with the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH) that brought together builders, dealers and resilience experts for a conversation about home safety. Speakers included Leslie Chapman-Henderson (FLASH President & CEO), Tim O’Neil (My Safe Florida Home Program), Fred Malik (IBHS FORTIFIED) and Dr. David Prevatt from the University of Florida.

The discussion centered on the role garage doors play in protecting homes during extreme weather — and on the business case for making safety part of the sales conversation. It was a great night and a good reminder that what we build matters beyond aesthetics.

What's New at Haas Door?

By Haas Door June 15, 2026
When Mademan Design’s Patrick Knobloch was brought on to transform a former St. Louis auto dealership into Makers Yard — a multi-tenant restaurant hub anchoring the city’s new Delmar Maker District — the building’s industrial bones provided an excellent starting point. The challenge, however, was creating a meaningful indoor-outdoor connection across a series of large storefront openings while honoring what the building once was. Haas Door’s aluminum and glass full view sectional doors ended up playing a bigger role in solving that problem than anyone might have expected — right down to surviving an EF3 tornado with zero damage. We asked Knobloch to walk us through the project, the product decisions and what he’d tell other architects working on similar commercial applications.

Every May, Home Improvement Month gives homeowners a nudge to step back and think about the projects that would make the biggest difference — the upgrades that have been sitting on the list a little too long. If you’re not sure where to start this spring, we’d make the case for your garage door. It’s the largest moving part of your home, one of the most visible features of your exterior, and — depending on what door you have — either a significant vulnerability or a serious asset. Here’s why upgrading to a new Haas Door this spring is one of the smartest home improvement decisions you can make.

Wood-grain aesthetics have been one of the most consistent design requests we hear from homeowners, which is why we’re excited to introduce our new Plank style options, now available across the 600, 700 and 2000 Series for both residential and commercial options. Whether you’re drawn to the warm richness of walnut, the classic character of oak, the brighter feel of cedar, or something in between, our Plank offerings bring a fresh, modern sensibility to the garage door without sacrificing the quality Haas Door is known for.

Energy efficiency is often discussed in terms of windows, insulation and HVAC systems. But one of the largest and most frequently used openings in a home is often overlooked: the garage door. Because the garage connects directly to the living space in many homes, the performance of the garage door affects more than just curb appeal. It plays a meaningful role in comfort, efficiency and long-term home performance. That’s why the way a garage door is built matters.
