New Specialty Glass Offering from Haas Door

Haas Door • March 7, 2018

At Haas Door we’ve expanded our specialty glass offerings. We’re now providing you with specialty glass options for both insulated and non-insulated tempered glass in the majority of our company’s product lines.

Along with Clear on Clear, insulated glass combinations now available include Aqua on Clear, Rain on Clear, Clear on Frosted, Aqua on Frosted, and Rain on Frosted. The different glass combinations allow you to select the level of texture pattern and privacy you wish for your garage doors. The least opaque glass combination is Clear on Clear; with the highest opaque rating coming with the selection of Rain on Frosted glass.

“We recently introduced our Decorative Glass Collection which was immediately embraced by our customers,” says to Jeffrey Nofziger, president of Haas Door. “People liked the decorative designs. We recognize that some people would prefer just decorative glass on their windows without the design, so we’ve taken the proactive step to offer these specialty glass options that we believe will excite homeowners.

“Clearly homeowners, builders and garage door installers are all looking for unique ways for garage doors to add more curb appeal to the home. The new specialty glass styles we’ve launched complement a full spectrum of product lines offered by Haas Door.”

Glass Options

The five new specialty glass window selections are available in every Haas Door product line with the exception of RA360/CA Aluminum Full View doors and the Commercial 800 series.

The selection includes more than 120 models of Haas Door products which offer the specialty glass option, including products in the 5000 Series, American Tradition Series, 2000 Series, 700 Series, 600 Series, 2400 Series and 2500 Series. The specialty glass windows are available in Standard, Ranch, and Carriage House window sizes.

“The specialty glass styles can be ordered at varying levels of privacy to fit the style preferences of homeowners,” says Nofziger. “If broken, the tempered insulated and tempered non-insulated glasses won’t break into dangerous shards.

“This option provides the homeowner with peace-of-mind. And, these specialty glass options meet the requirements for wind load in most areas of the country.”

What's New at Haas Door?

When Mademan Design’s Patrick Knobloch was brought on to transform a former St. Louis auto dealership into Makers Yard — a multi-tenant restaurant hub anchoring the city’s new Delmar Maker District — the building’s industrial bones provided an excellent starting point. The challenge, however, was creating a meaningful indoor-outdoor connection across a series of large storefront openings while honoring what the building once was. Haas Door’s aluminum and glass full view sectional doors ended up playing a bigger role in solving that problem than anyone might have expected — right down to surviving an EF3 tornado with zero damage. We asked Knobloch to walk us through the project, the product decisions and what he’d tell other architects working on similar commercial applications.

Every May, Home Improvement Month gives homeowners a nudge to step back and think about the projects that would make the biggest difference — the upgrades that have been sitting on the list a little too long. If you’re not sure where to start this spring, we’d make the case for your garage door. It’s the largest moving part of your home, one of the most visible features of your exterior, and — depending on what door you have — either a significant vulnerability or a serious asset. Here’s why upgrading to a new Haas Door this spring is one of the smartest home improvement decisions you can make.

Energy efficiency is often discussed in terms of windows, insulation and HVAC systems. But one of the largest and most frequently used openings in a home is often overlooked: the garage door. Because the garage connects directly to the living space in many homes, the performance of the garage door affects more than just curb appeal. It plays a meaningful role in comfort, efficiency and long-term home performance. That’s why the way a garage door is built matters.
