New SelectView Garage Door Window Options Now Available

Haas Door • January 4, 2019

Imagine being able to choose the spaces for windows in your garage door. Stair-stepped. A vertical line. Perhaps an “X” formation? Haas Door can make that happen.

With our new SelectView option you can place windows in almost any location you desire in a garage door.

“SelectView provides builders and homeowners with more aesthetic choices for garage doors to complement home styles,” says Jeff Nofziger, president of Haas Door. “Whether a person has a preference for a trending modern glass pattern or a more traditional window placement, SelectView helps achieve their personal design goals.”

Your Windows, Your Choice
According to Nofziger, unique configurations are not a challenge when using SelectView. “We can easily see people requesting unique configurations such as staggered windows or a vertical line of windows,” says Nofziger. “Or perhaps they’d like to fill the entire door with windows. SelectView puts the choice in the customer’s hands so they get almost any look they desire.

“Another advantage is the cost savings of this window placement option. For example, in a standard door you can put four windows across the top of a garage door. With SelectView, you can move those four windows anywhere in the door and the cost will be the same … so there’s no special or added pricing for using SelectView to move the same number of windows into a unique pattern.”

SelectView uniquely provides options for windows in the bottom section of the garage door as well. This allows for glass to be used in all panels of the garage door, giving the look of an aluminum rail door, but providing two additional options.

With SelectView all-glass garage doors, the sections themselves can have a wood grain texture to them softening the modern feel to have wider appeal. And, the SelectView all-glass door comes insulated with polyurethane, providing added thermal performance.

Decorative, specialty glass, and inserts are available through SelectView, dictated by the glass options typically found in the garage door product line chosen. Many options are available included insulated and non-insulated glass. Visit haasdoor.com for more information on SelectView.

What's New at Haas Door?

Choosing the right garage door is only half the equation. The other half is the person who shows up to make it happen — measuring the space, walking you through the options, answering the questions you didn’t know you had and making sure everything is done right. That’s what Haas Door’s authorized dealers and installers do every day. In honor of SuperTech Day, we asked a few recent customers to share what that experience looked like for them.

When Mademan Design’s Patrick Knobloch was brought on to transform a former St. Louis auto dealership into Makers Yard — a multi-tenant restaurant hub anchoring the city’s new Delmar Maker District — the building’s industrial bones provided an excellent starting point. The challenge, however, was creating a meaningful indoor-outdoor connection across a series of large storefront openings while honoring what the building once was. Haas Door’s aluminum and glass full view sectional doors ended up playing a bigger role in solving that problem than anyone might have expected — right down to surviving an EF3 tornado with zero damage. We asked Knobloch to walk us through the project, the product decisions and what he’d tell other architects working on similar commercial applications.

Every May, Home Improvement Month gives homeowners a nudge to step back and think about the projects that would make the biggest difference — the upgrades that have been sitting on the list a little too long. If you’re not sure where to start this spring, we’d make the case for your garage door. It’s the largest moving part of your home, one of the most visible features of your exterior, and — depending on what door you have — either a significant vulnerability or a serious asset. Here’s why upgrading to a new Haas Door this spring is one of the smartest home improvement decisions you can make.

Energy efficiency is often discussed in terms of windows, insulation and HVAC systems. But one of the largest and most frequently used openings in a home is often overlooked: the garage door. Because the garage connects directly to the living space in many homes, the performance of the garage door affects more than just curb appeal. It plays a meaningful role in comfort, efficiency and long-term home performance. That’s why the way a garage door is built matters.
