Go with the Grain . . . or Color of Your Choosing

Haas Door • June 13, 2019

At Haas Door, we make it possible for homeowners to select both the wood grain color and style option you desire.

For the vast majority of our steel garage doors we offer selections of American Walnut, English Oak, Ash and Mahogany wood grains. And, we offer them in a wide variety of uni-directional and bi-directional panel designs..

What does this mean? For a uni-directional garage door, the wood grain pattern runs horizontally to complement any of our insulated steel garage doors. The pre-painted wood grain finish is baked on to the steel frame to ensure a durable, long-lasting garage door with years of beauty.

With a bi-directional garage door color, a vertical wood grain pattern is applied to the panel and stile areas. This contrasts with a horizontal pattern on the rails to create the appearance of a true wood door. Available in all insulated steel models with a stamped panel, bi-directional colors also feature pre-painted wood grain finish that’s baked on to the steel surface. Both versions feature a 10-year finish warranty, so you have peace-of-mind that the beauty you see today will last for many tomorrow’s to come.

Trendy and Elegant
While many people enjoy having a wood grain color on their steel Haas Door garage doors, others prefer a painted look. No problem.

In today’s marketplace, dark colors have gained popularity on home exteriors. Homeowners are leaning toward lighter color houses with dark pops of trim color, front doors and garage doors. At Haas Door, Cool Black has been a top trending color for our garage doors for the past four years.

Why is Cool Black so popular? Homeowners can use the accent color as a classy, sharp contrast to lighter tones on the overall home exteriors. Then, to “carry through” the contrasting theme, black can be specified for window frames, hardware on the home, window boxes bursting with colorful flowers, shutters and trim.

Not quite ready to embrace an elegant black garage door? Then you may be one of many who are captivated by shades of gray. From warm grays to traditional steely grays to “gun metal” bluish gray, the many tones of gray are still a runaway favorite with homeowners. Stately and appealing, tones of charcoal and gray can always make a strong curb appeal impact on a home — especially when matching the front entry door color to your garage door.

Colorful Color Options
At Haas Door our standard colors on a majority of our steel doors include Almond, Sahara Tan, Sandstone, Gray, Bronze, Hunter Green, Brown, Charcoal, Cool Black, and, the always popular, Polar White. Looking for a higher quality color finish that really stands out? If that’s what you’re looking for, we also offer our Trinar® White, Trinar® Beige, and Trinar® Brown. Each of these premium colors carries a 35-year finish warranty, making them ideal for homes requiring long-lasting durability and beauty.

What's New at Haas Door?

When Mademan Design’s Patrick Knobloch was brought on to transform a former St. Louis auto dealership into Makers Yard — a multi-tenant restaurant hub anchoring the city’s new Delmar Maker District — the building’s industrial bones provided an excellent starting point. The challenge, however, was creating a meaningful indoor-outdoor connection across a series of large storefront openings while honoring what the building once was. Haas Door’s aluminum and glass full view sectional doors ended up playing a bigger role in solving that problem than anyone might have expected — right down to surviving an EF3 tornado with zero damage. We asked Knobloch to walk us through the project, the product decisions and what he’d tell other architects working on similar commercial applications.

Every May, Home Improvement Month gives homeowners a nudge to step back and think about the projects that would make the biggest difference — the upgrades that have been sitting on the list a little too long. If you’re not sure where to start this spring, we’d make the case for your garage door. It’s the largest moving part of your home, one of the most visible features of your exterior, and — depending on what door you have — either a significant vulnerability or a serious asset. Here’s why upgrading to a new Haas Door this spring is one of the smartest home improvement decisions you can make.

Energy efficiency is often discussed in terms of windows, insulation and HVAC systems. But one of the largest and most frequently used openings in a home is often overlooked: the garage door. Because the garage connects directly to the living space in many homes, the performance of the garage door affects more than just curb appeal. It plays a meaningful role in comfort, efficiency and long-term home performance. That’s why the way a garage door is built matters.
