Garage Door Dealer Selects Haas Door Products for Her Home

Haas Door • September 14, 2018

It’s finally her turn.

After taking over the family business, Laura Pfahler, vice president of Great Garage Door finally had the chance this year to get new garage doors for her own home in Boardman, Ohio.

“When we purchased our house three years ago, the garage doors seemed to match the trim of the structure,” says Pfahler, vice president at Great Garage Door in Youngstown, Ohio. “On closer look, the garage doors were starting to rust and deteriorate on the bottom sections.”

Pfahler understood from the beginning that her three standard garage doors would need to be replaced in the future. After working with hundreds of garage doors at work over the years, she knew she was interested in Haas Door products.

Selecting New Doors
“I researched the Haas Door website and used the HaasCreate visualizer online to see what would look best on our home,” says Pfahler. “Using the HaasCreate tool made it easy to narrow down our choice to the Ribbed Long Panel, Model 664.

“We wanted to bring some light in the garage and add to the curb appeal of our house, so we selected three-pane, double arch windows. These actually match the arches of our home’s windows perfectly. We’re thrilled with how the Haas Door products are able to complement our home’s overall design.”

The 600 Series garage doors selected by Pfahler combine the look of deep embossed wood grain with the strength and durability of heavy gauge galvanized steel. The energy-efficient door features a 1-3/8” thick, CFC/HCFC-free, polyurethane insulation, providing more than five times the insulating value of wood.

This unique picture shows one of Pfahler’s original garage doors still on the home (left) while the two right garage doors have been replaced with the Haas Door 600 Series.

Energy efficiency is often discussed in terms of windows, insulation and HVAC systems. But one of the largest and most frequently used openings in a home is often overlooked: the garage door. Because the garage connects directly to the living space in many homes, the performance of the garage door affects more than just curb appeal. It plays a meaningful role in comfort, efficiency and long-term home performance. That’s why the way a garage door is built matters.
