Visit the Broken Oar Marina Bar & Grill and you can gaze at seven riverfront acres of the Fox River. The restaurant sits right alongside the river, offering guests amazing views and even better food.

 

On nice days you can enjoy the wide-open view even if you’re inside. That’s because the owners installed a Haas Door garage door inside the restaurant, replacing old picture windows. When the weather is good, the garage doors are open. 

 

Creating a Walk-Out Patio

“We installed the CA-320 in Dark Bronze Anodized garage door back in July of 2018,” says George Katsafados with Buckeridge Door Company out of Arlington Heights, Illinois. “The restaurant owner had a carpenter reframe the window opening to my specs so we could make a walk-out patio.”

 

The garage door, with massive glass windows, does indeed open to a wide patio overlooking the river. The spacious sky deck, the Oar Stage and the party tent all provide great summertime entertainment at the Port Barrington, Illinois location. Then, when the weather gets chilly, the garage door is closed and indoor dining is offered.

 

“Our company has installed Haas Door products for almost 25 years,” says Katsafados. “When the owner reached out to me I immediately recommended a Haas Door garage door for the restaurant. I always advise customers to consider Haas Door products.

The Next Chapter

With the garage door now in service, Katsafados enjoys visiting the restaurant every so often. However, he’s much more interested in where his next unique installation project will take him. He has strong confidence in the quality of Haas Door products and how the dependable garage doors are made to order for his customer’s needs. 

 

“My goal is to keep adding chapters to the Haas Door story,” says Katsafados. “Our company has serviced the Chicagoland area since 1948. We’ve had some exciting and fulfilling garage door installations. We’re always looking forward to the next challenging residential or commercial project!”
